Omnipresent in all arid parts of the country, fast-growing and rich in nutrition, the Eucalyptus tree has always been an icon of Oceanyka. Not only hugely important for the ecosystem, but also for humanity; Eucalyptus produces multipurpose oils, can be used to manufacture dyes, produces a reddish resin and its wood has a ton of uses of itself. The tree can be chopped off at the root and grow back again, while providing many desirable characteristics for use as ornament, timber, firewood and pulpwood. However, it is a tree that naturally drains a lot of water around it; despite excellent rainfall and huge river systems, it is thought Eucalyptus naturally "desertifies" Australia's climate somewhat. Furthermore, its oils can make the tree explode if it catches on fire. All in all a useful, emblematic and essential part of Oceanykan flora.
