Omega-class Unidentified Creatures, better known in Oceanykan folklore as Banshees, are highly dangerous, if rare creatures. In the higher end of the paranormal pyramid, banshees display abilities that may defy their biology, if they are indeed biological creatures. The appearance of an Omega is always preceded by the beginning of psychosis or schizophrenia in a human being. The cause is still unknown. After about two weeks the patient will disappear. Shortly after, the newly born Omega begins hunting down any creature it can find, particularly during night-time. It may consume over 200 living beings of its own size in one single sitting. When not agitated, their skin secretes a wax-like substance made of metamaterials, which allows them to remain partially invisible, though they may be seen by the Wedge-Tailed Eagle's infrared eyesight, or by man-made infrared optics.

Banshees are capable of impossible physical feats such as bending their own muscle and bone to unnatural angles, resisting accurate automatic fire, healing apparently terminal wounds in a few hours, retaining near-full mental functionality after having 2/3 of their brains blown off, running in all four limbs at over 120km/h, ripping a fully grown man in half and punching through lighter armoured vehicles. Their mental abilities are enough to engage in torture, set up ambushes and deceive its attackers. However, they are not always immune to incendiary, chemical and radiological weapons. After death, an Omega dissolves into a liquid sludge of dead human cells, preventing any comprehensive autopsy.

The most impressive thing about Omega-class creatures is their unpredictability. Half of encountered subjects displayed unique anomalous abilities. Subject O-32 was capable of spitting Chlorine Trifluoride (which became a terrifying ability when she found a pocket lighter) while subject O-48 was capable of projecting massive amounts of alpha particle radiation into an object from fifty meters away.
