Spirits of despair in Aboriginal religion, Lambda-class Unidentified Creatures (better known as the Bloodmothers) are rarely encountered titanic beings with human-like limbs and heads. Standing over 30 metres tall on all six legs, bloodmothers are some of the largest eldritch creatures found in Oceanyka. Their entire torso is covered by long strands of hair, laced with silicon-needle opioid injectors, which their victims wilfully tie themselves up with and succumb in ecstasy. Bloodmothers are very rare and have only been engaged thrice by the FSRD, but at least five more encounters have been recorded in Oceanykan history. Displaying high physical resilience and extreme mobility, they are a challenge for even the best of FSRD agents. Bloodmothers occasionally feed on some of the humans they have captured in their hair strands using their frontal hand-like utilities, sadistically savouring their meals. They are sentient and capable of psychic communication, which they use to lure the unsuspecting. At a distance of about 500m a wave of psychic conditioning will completely overtaking the subject's brain, forcing them to lay down their arms and embrace the bloodmother. This effect works equally in males and females. Affected subjects mumble "mum" or "mama" uncontrollably, hence the creature's name. Upon death, they will dissolve into a pile of liquid human cells and extremely long hair strands. The opioids produced by the bloodmother are roughly equivalent in strength to Fentanyl, a synthetic drug.
