The Myoko-class was a series of Japanese heavy cruisers launched in the late 1920s. They saw service in the Pacific War, where of the four ships in the class, two were sunk by American forces. One remained at port and was scuttled post-war, while the final ship's crew mutinied and sailed towards Oceanyka. The design has been copied successfully. Many private flotillas within Oceanyka operate reproductions of the Myoko-class cruisers.
As a heavy cruiser, the Myoko-class's role is as a flagship for smaller groups. It can confidently engage other ships of its type, or smaller ones. However, it is vulnerable to aerial attack, battleship gunnery, and modern anti-ship missiles. Though not as compatible with contemporary weapons systems, the Myoko-class was historically graced with ample firepower, an advantage it still enjoys.
