Third Great Wave

Oceanykan History - Colonial
1855 to 1892

As Oceanyka's pre-collapse population recovered and immigrants claimed the most valuable agricultural land, later Oceanykan settlers were forced to make due with the continent's harsher interior, colonising mostly shrubland, jungles, mountains and steppes. These people were much more resilient, usually outcasts due to their beliefs, be they political, religious, or otherwise. Over twelve million people migrated to Oceanyka during this period, mostly Europeans, but with an increasing number of Indians, Chinese and Japanese. British efforts to crack down on migration from Asia were unsuccessful. In particular the Chinese immigrants created a number of important settlements, and many of them became significant historical figures later on.
