During the Russian Civil War, the Romanov family was slaughtered by revolutionaries, ending any future attempts at imperial restoration. However, the Soviet Union is large, housing many cults and secret societies. One such society is the Kult Tsarevicha, or Cult of the Prince, whose members believe Alexei (Nicholas II's son and proposed heir) is still alive. Though these kinds of movements are regularly monitored and suppressed by Soviet authorities, the Kult Tsarevicha remains operational and slowly growing.
In the 5th of May of 1968, the FSRD received a request for aid from its Soviet counterpart; according to its report, the Kult Tsarevicha had managed to summon something with the appereance of the long-dead heir through the use of eldritch technology, acquire through unknown means.
