The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation's member states unified their anomalous research efforts into the POG, or Paranormal Observation Group, in 1969. Unlike its communist counterpart, POG has access to virtually unlimited funds for developing paranormal technology, analysing anomalous phenomena, and acting on the world stage. Unfortunately, because of deteriorating western relations with Oceanyka, they do not have the same level of access to zones of paranormal activity, or native empirical knowledge. Most importantly, they have no psychics within their ranks, and have trouble comprehending psychic phenomena. NATO's POG prefers direct military action, posing as peacekeeper troops or special forces, as opposed to subterfuge and stealth operations.
