The right arm of the free world, a name is has rightfully earned. The FN FAL is a Belgian battle rifle chambered in 7.62mm NATO, used by most NATO members and many western-aligned countries. It is reliable, easy to maintain, accurate and mechanically simple. The FAL has been used in most conflicts of the Cold War, owing to its ubiquity. In Oceanyka, they are fairly common as far as battle rifles go, though its British cousin in the L1A1 is far easier to find.

Auto

This weapon is fully automatic, either inherently so or by the presence of a selective-fire mechanism.

EFFECT:
This weapon can fire more than one shot each time it is used. Each subsequent shot has a progressive penalty.
Automatic weapons are considered STABLE when they're mounted on a vehicle, tripod or turret. This is different from the Stabilised SA.

  • Point Blank Range - No penalty.
  • Close Range (≤10m / 2sq) -> -1
  • Short Range (≤50m / 5sq) -> -2 (STABLE: -1)
  • Average Range (≤200m / 10sq) -> -3 (STABLE: -1)
  • Medium Range (≤500m / 20sq) -> -5 (STABLE: -1)
  • Long Range (≤1000m / 50sq) -> -5 (STABLE: -3)

         ~ Beyond this point, automatic fire is unfeasible without a STABLE firing platform. ~

  • Very Long Range (≤2000m) -> (STABLE: -3)
  • Extreme Range (>2000m) -> (STABLE: -5)

Though a title once bestowed upon the United States for its industrial might, Benelux is nowadays called by a similar name, for having inherited the advanced military industries of the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. As a result of this Union, and the few necessities of its armed forces, it is the strongest small arms exporter in Europe and a cornerstone of NATO strategic planning. Benelux firearms are renowned for their ability to fight anywhere, everywhere, with extreme reliability.

EFFECT:
This weapon is immune to the effects of operating in mud, wetlands, jungle, desert, extreme cold or extreme heat (see Reliability & Maintenace Rules)

Right Arm of the Free World - FN FAL UA

The FN FAL and its variants are renowned for their widespread use amongst not only amongst NATO countries, but also with anti-communist guerillas and regimes. This has earned the rifle its moniker as the "Right Arm of the Free World", an accidental marketing masterpiece that FN Herstal is happy to elevate. 

EFFECT:
When firing against creatures of a faction that belongs to or is allied to the Eastern Bloc ⚒️, this weapon can reroll 1 hit roll per turn.
