Orichalcum, known scientifically as electronium and by Oceanyka's top electric engineers as "voidgold", is a purple-ish supermetal manufactured from processed electrite ore. It is an excellent conductor, which achieves superconduction under fairly manageable conditions (-50° C). Furthermore, its electrochemical potential exceeds even that of Lithium by a significant amount, making it a natural material for superbatteries. Out of all the Oceanykan supermetals, orichalcum is the one most sought after by foreign interests, as it could potentially spark a revolution in the electronics industry. Despite Germany's greater expertise at producing computers and electronics, the Soviet Union is the only country which possesses experimental computers using orichalcum in their architecture.
