Fossilised remains of the few millennia directly after the impact of the warpstone body into western Australia are bizarre to put it lightly. Only the mad artist is capable of describing what a jungle or a forest would have looked like back then, based in preserved remains, plus cave art from Primordial Men and surviving Homo Erectus. The ecosystem was unstable, dynamic, rapidly evolving and absolutely horrifying. It seems, however, that the genetic information of previous species was preserved despite the incident. This means it only took a few millennia for the ecosystem to go back to normal. However, genetic mutations created during this period would permanently scar the Oceanykan flora and fauna.
