Jupiter Forest

The edges of Lake Jupiter are populated by extremely water efficient and unimaginably salt resistant trees in an otherwise deserted landscape. These species of trees die out quickly in any other environment but that of Lake Jupiter. Hemoglobin has been noted as a secretion of the tree, and the entire area smells of rotten carcasses, despite animal life being almost completely absent. That which does exist appears to be severely physically warped. Aboriginals call it the "Deadwoods" and say no spirits can enter this region; when a creature does, its soul stays outside, leaving one hollow until they leave. The Ferozen say the Son of Aster's one and only defeat in the many wars of his crusade took place in this forest.
