The M116 was America's light artillery piece from the interwar period until the end of WW2. A 75mm weapon with a distinctive, curved top, it has historically been used by the US Army's Airborne Corps and the US Marine Corps to provide fire support for units which cannot realistically carry with them a full-sized cannon. Nowadays it has been replaced by super-lightweight 105mm designs, though during the Pacific War many somehow made their way into the cargo bays of many Oceanykan pirate ships.
