The Kingdom of Yurislanzia is an entity on the eastern border of Europe which encompasses much of modern Galicia. Its origins lie in the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk which decreed that a new, independent Kingdom of Ukraine would be established. Unfortunately, the Hohenzollern puppet that was installed proved to be less popular than legendary anarchist fighter Nestor Makhno, who seized much of the Kingdom's land for his grand national experiment. This rump state fought alongside Poland in the 1920 Polish-Soviet War, losing even more territory to the newly created Ukrainian SSR, which was rapidly incorporated to the Soviet Union. During World War II, the territory which now makes up Yurislanzia saw some of the heaviest fighting between Comintern and Stahlpakt forces, changing hands twice. Today it is led by King Yurislav III, ancestor of the mythical Ukrainian insurrectionist of the late 18th century Boris Yuroslav, whose small kingdom fought off the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Austrian Empire and the Russian Empire at the same time, winning a number of bloody victories. Thanks to American and German investment, Yurislanzia has developed into a newly industrialised region, and boasts a significant military despite its size.
