The EM-2 is a widely produced British assault rifle, designed just after WW2. It is a bullpup .280 British weapon with an integrated optical sight. While highly successful and effective, it is fairly unreliable and expensive. Despite these shortcomings the British government kept it around until its replacement by the L1A1 (a FAL variant) began in the 50s, when British confidence in NATO became more established. Many remaining EM-2s have been converted to .223 Remington weapons, and issued exclusively to Britain's paratroopers, SAS, and other such units.
