The Republic of Cuba is a country located in the Caribbean. It is led by First Secretary Fidel Castro, a hardened revolutionary and zealous leader. Previously a right-wing dictatorship under Fulgencio Bautista, over the late 1950s Castro's revolutionaries managed to snatch a rare victory of communism in the Americas, turning Cuba into the first Trotskyist state in the continent. Another key figure in the Cuban Revolution was Ernesto "Che" Guevara, Castro's argentine second in command. Following the Cuban Missile Crisis, which Guevara had largely orchestrated, he saw a great victory for communism with the continued presence of Soviet forces in the island, and embarked on a grand Latin American revolution deep in the heart of South America. Cuba is the main provider of arms, training and intelligence to Che's pan-american guerillas, many of which are sourced from Moscow itself. In response, the United States of America has initiated Operation Condor, which seeks to snuff out Che's rebellion and all communist influence in the Americas.
