The Weibel M/32 is a Danish "heavy submachinegun" or "super-light machinegun" chambered in 7x44mm Weibel. In reality, due to its characteristics, it can be classified as one of the earliest assault rifles. These weapons were produced in very low numbers and used a propietary cartridge. The Danish Life Guards received this weapon, using it to great effect against Soviet troops in Pomerania. Some believe it inspired the development of the German MkB/StG series of assault rifles.
