The DM34 Handflammpatronne, or HAFLA-35, is a German portable flamethrower device introduced in 1965. It consists or a bursting charge which propels a solid chunk of red phosphorus forwards at up to 90m, creating a cone of fire in its wake as it transforms into white phosphorus. Far more portable and deadly than conventional flamethrowers, the DM34 has quickly begun replacing these weapons in German arsenals, and is highly sought after in the international arms market.
