While Oceanyka did not import many guns during its medieval era once the methods to produce said guns and their powder were perfected, there was one exception; Japaneze Oozutu matchlock hand-cannons, which were usually adorned and of excellent craftsmanship. These were very sought after by Oceanykan soldiers for their sheer firepower. Tanegashima is a Japanese nickname for any type of matchlock musket, as it was a Daimyo from said island which first began to mass-produce these weapons based on Portuguese designs. In Oceanykan culture, as it was Oozutu handcannons that got imported, the name stuck to these massive weapons instead.
