High Explosive Anti-Tank is a type of ammunition which submits a conductive cone (usually copper) to a shaped explosive force, leading it to become a hypersonic jet with very low cross-section. Such an arrangement is useful for penetrating armoured targets such as tanks and bunkers. HEAT warheads have become emblematic of the Cold War, displacing traditional anti-armour weapons.

Game Stats

When employing generic HEAT ammunition:

  • Reduce EXP-DMG by half.
  • Apply full PEN.
  • Reduce the Frag Rules rating by one level.
    • For example, if a 105mm HE shell would be treated as a Heavy Explosive, a 105mm HEAT shell would be treated as a Medium Explosive.

As HEAT Shells are Explosive, their PEN is not affected by distance. However, be aware that certain types of armour are HEAT Resistant.
