Bunjil is the supreme creator of reality in Dreamtime faith, as well as of the Earth itself. He was born of primal matter within the Void, shaped as an eagle to scour the sky freely, and shaped himself a number of companions from remaining matter. According to legend, he disappeared to find others like himself across the heavens.
As the firstborn and most powerful god, he is the patron of kings, emperors, priests and shamans.
