Macroscorpions are gigantic arthropods very loosely related to modern scorpions. They are very large, measuring up to 4 meters stretched out from head to tail, though coiled up they are slightly larger than a full grown man. Their tremendous size is used to capture and consume large terrestrial animals, but some subspecies are amphibious and hunt near the coast. Macroscorpion pincers are five times stronger than a human arm, and can easily impale as well as dismember. The tail stinger also has a mildly potent neurotoxin that targets pain receptors, but outback scorpions prefer cheesing up their victims with a rapid fire stinger attack rather than relying on a single dose. They mostly live in groups of 10-30 within the arid areas of Australia, giving them their second most popular name as the Outback Scorpion.
