Scho-ka-kola is a German brand of dark chocolate which became synonymous with the nation's war effort during the Second Weltkrieg, as once supply lines to Mittelafrika's cocoa farms were confidently re-established around 1942, these chocolates became a part of soldier's rations (especially for pilots, which had to stay awake and alert for longer periods of time). Though more bitter than its American counterparts, Scho-ka-kola contains as much caffeine as one cup of coffee, a valuable quality in the high intensity meatgrinder that was the Eastern Front.
