Aster is said to be the last of a number of old gods, which once existed in the Ferozen peoples' mythos and constantly warred with each other. At some point in time, Aster is said to have sprung from a volcano where a virgin goddess had been sacrificed, at the very top of the Tasmanian Highlands, fending off wave after wave of monsters sent after him by other gods, who could feel his presence from across the island. These monsters were the gods' servants and were also occasionally sent down the Highlands to massacre those villages and towns which preferred one deity over another. After only a month, Aster had grown into a colossal man who could best any other like him in single combat. Eventually, such was his rage against those in the heavens who had wronged him for the sin of being born, that in a single jump he reached its glistening halls. Then the massacre began.
After three days and three nights of non-stop fighting in what was later known as The War in Heaven, Aster had personally slaughtered every single god. At first, he fought naked and barehanded, but as more of his brethren were killed, he acquired ancient artifacts and weapons to aid him in this endeavour. From his blood-soaked throne in heaven, he handed down a number of instructions to mankind down below.
- To worship other gods is futile, as Aster has killed them all.
- Though Aster has the final decision on the fate of men, they are largely masters of their own destiny.
- To butcher, raze and debauch is wasteful when a lord can recruit, build and train, thus assuring victory in future conquests.
- Against such a cruel and unforgiving world, the answer is conquest.
These commandments were later rewritten and reinterpreted by Morlon of Toffia, better known as the Son of Aster.
