The Irukandji jellyfish is a carnivorous small invertebrate which lives in Australia's coasts, especially in the north, and is part of the infamous box jellyfish family. Despite their small size (about 1 cubic centimetre), their metre-long tentacles contain needles, delivering a potent neurotoxin which may kill a grown man if they are not given immediate treatment. These are used to kill their prey, small fish, as fast as possible. In the worst cases, Irukandji jellyfish toxin may even induce a brain haemorrhage.
