The KAL1 General Purpose Infantry Rifle is an Oceanykan battle rifle chambered for 7.62x51mm NATO, designed and produced by some really bored engineers in the Lithgow Small Arms Factory. It is a bullpup weapon which feeds from the same 20-round magazines as the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle, with which it shares a lot of parts, including the barrel. The program was partially gutted when the Oceanykan Revolution came around, in large part because many of the engineers behind the program defected to the Australian Emergency Committee, stealing much of the machinery and tooling for this rifle in the process. Rather than start from scratch, the Oceanykan People's Army decided instead to license and produce the AKM assault rifle. The rogue association's troops employ the KAL1 GPR as their standard battle rifle, always preferring their own designs over looted weaponry.
