Longflax, also known as Australian flax or southern linseed, is a flowering plant which is cultivated as a food and fiber crop throughout the continent. Textiles made from flax are known as linen and are traditionally used for clothing and utilities. The nutritious seeds of the plant are used to produce longflax oil, which has many utilities. Traditionally, clothing in Australia was made from this plant's fibres. This industry eventually gave way to Edelian Linen.
