British colonisation was not peaceful. Resistance, both organised and not, was widespread as European people, ideas and control seeped into Oceanyka. The Frontier Wars refer to a large number (<320) of declared and undeclared conflicts between the British Empire and Oceanyka's peoples or its surviving independent city-states. Forces loyal to the colonial empire were victorious in every single one of these conflicts. Most of the battles in this conflict consisted in skirmishes between imperial colonists and native raiders, though there were at least 8 major battles.
