Honey is a sweet, viscous food substance made by honeybees and some related insects, particularly the Oceanykan Sugarbag Bee. These insects produce honey from the sugary secretions of plants (floral nectar) or from secretions of other insects (such as honeydew), by regurgitation, enzymatic activity, and water evaporation. Honey is stored in wax structures called honeycombs, which are then harvested by human workers for consumption or sale, a practice known as apiculture. The most popular use of honey is as a sweetener, particularly of the all-powerful drink known as Tea, though its potent medicinal properties are also well known.
