The Oceanykan Red Cross maintains a permanent force of men and women who volunteer to provide medical aid and emergency care in the farthest reaches of the Oceanykan wilderness or the most dangerous combat zones; the Pioneer Corps. Naturally, danger to life and body is more than abundant in these places, so the pioneers are renowned not only for their medical skills, but also for their aptitudes at survival and combat. Any faction who tries to do something funny to a member of the Pioneer Corps will find themselves beset by the nicest, most warm-hearted and brutally efficient guerilla force on the planet. Replacing medical supplies with faux-packaged toxins is a favourite tactic of them. In this sense they also operate as the Oceanykan Red Cross's security force, striking back against factions or free men who wish to harm Oceanyka's most altruistic volunteer organisation.
