Soil is a natural mixture of inorganic matter (finely grained Rock) and organic matter in different proportions, ranging from sand (which contains little to none), though Ultisol Soil, all the way to enormously fertile ones like Chernozem Soil which contain enormous amounts of organic matter. This resource is intrinsically linked to land as an economic and political concept and can therefore be considered the second most important resource after the workers themselves. Alongside Water, it is critical in the production of Agricultural Products and the raising of cattle for Animal Products. Even industrial resources have soil as the fundamental and base element of their production, for factories need a plot of land to be built upon.
