The Lavochkin La-9 is a Soviet fighter aircraft produced late into the Great Patriotic War as the most modern iteration of the Lavochkin series. It was based on the Lavochkin La-126 prototype but had an all-metal construction and a laminar flow wing. The Shvetsov ASh-82FN radial engine was kept, though its armament was significantly improved compared to prior La-series fighters (now consisting of four 23mm cannons. It had a top speed of 690 km/h and entered service in late 1944. Following the war, many of these fighters were exported to allied nations including China, North Korea, Romania, Yugoslavia and Oceanyka.
