The M1927 76mm Regimental Gun is a Soviet infantry support gun that was developed in 1927 and entered production in 1928. It was designed to destroy light field fortifications and enemy personnel by direct fire, though the development of HEAT shells gave it limited anti-tank capabilities. The M1927 uses the same shells as the ZiS-3 76mm Divisional Gun, but with a reduced propellant charge. It was widely used by the Red Army in the early stages of the Great Patriotic War.
