The T-64A is a Soviet main battle tank, a variant of the T-64. Its most distinguishing features are the inclusion of a 125mm smoothbore D-81TM Tank Gun (2A46), improved night vision devices, an optical coincidence rangefinder, rubber side armour to protect the transmission and an NBC protection system. Soon thereafter, an optionally remote-controlled anti-air DShK Machinegun was added to the T-64A. This main battle tank began production in the late 1960s, and as such, its capabilities remain both an enigma and an unknown threat to NATO. Some have been spotted operating in Oceanyka, usually accompanying Spetsnaz forces deep into the bush.
