The StG-45 is a German assault rifle chambered in 7.92x33mm Kurz. It is essentially a simplified Sturmgewehr 44, though not to the degree of Primitiv-Waffen-Programm designs such as the Gustloff VSTG, so it can be used as an actual frontline service rifle. One of its defining characteristics is a roller-delayed blowback action, which would later be developed into the Heckler & Koch G3 family of battle rifles and its successors. Although the Germans planned to replace all StG-44s in service with StG-45s, the end of the war signalled a drastic shift in economic priorities, and this objective was never achieved.
