The L42A1 is a British sniper rifle derived from the Lee-Enfield No. 4 Rifle. This version is fit with a custom hammer-forged barrel chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO, which being free-floating, becomes immune to warping in the wooden stock and improves accuracy massively. L42A1s come equipped with a No. 32 3.5x telescopic sight. The design represents the epitome of classical bolt-action rifle engineering. It appeared in the late 1960s and is only really seen in the hands of Special Air Service commandos.
