The Messerschmitt Me 262 is a German jet fighter, the first of its kind in the Luftwaffe, serving from late World War II until well into the Cold War. The most produced variant of the original design is the Me 262 A-1a "Schwalbe" air superiority fighter featuring two Junkers Jumo 004 engines and four MK 108 30mm autocannons. However, this fighter proved to be a very versatile platform which could be easily modified for multiple roles including night fighter, interceptor, fighter-bomber, and reconnaissance plane. Its top speed is a tremendous 900 km/h. The Me 262 proved vital in putting a stop to the Red Air Force's Jet Scourge, being more than a match for eastern jet fighters. Thanks to post-war sales in military equipment, both to private airmen and the Federal Army Air Corps of the late 1940s, a great deal of Me 262s exist in Oceanyka.

Game Stats

Ace Pilots
The Luftwaffe was, at the Second Weltkrieg's outbreak, the most well-trained air force in the world. This commitment to quality over quantity was kept despite the changing priorities of an industrial war. If this aircraft's pilot has a Flying skill of at least 3, add an Easy DM to all of their actions; if their Flying skill is 6 or above, add a Very Easy DM to all of their actions.

Stormbird
Soviet forces, having thought they had perfected the art of anti-air warfare, came to dread the Me 262's bomber variant; the Sturmvogel. It seemingly materialised from thin air with a deafening shriek, rained hell on its targets, and disappeared in the blink of an eye. Add a Hard DM to non-missile weapons targeting the Me 262 from the ground.
