The Hawker Siddeley Harrier is a British VTOL attacker which entered mass production in the late 1960s. Powered by the innovative Rolls-Royce Pegasus turbofan engine which allows it to reach 1,133 km/h, it featured four vectoring nozzles that allowed it to take off and land vertically, hover, and manoeuvre in ways traditional aircraft could not. Its current service model is the Harrier GR. 1, which lacks many of the upgrades its later iterations would feature; it is armed with a combination of 30mm ADEN Cannon pods and a variety of air-to-ground ordnance, up to 2,000 kg in total. As of the mid-1960s, it is the most advanced attacker jet in Earth.
