The T-54 is a Soviet main battle tank, the most widely produced of its kind in the world. It is essentially a complete overhaul of the T-44 project, improved in all aspects. Its definitive mass-production variant is the T-54 Model 2 which entered service in 1949. Although technically a Main Battle Tank, the T-54 retains a number of features more reminiscent of medium tanks. Thanks to Soviet aid, and the replacement of older T-54s in their fleet with more modern tanks, these machines have become somewhat proliferated across Oceanyka, although demand has kept their numbers rather low.
