Session 65: Sanctuary

March 4, 2023

The party continued to be pulled down deeper and deeper, an almost endless descent. Until they all resurfaced in a small river and plunged into complete darkness until Mordus used his ring of light. In the area were corpses of the minions of the Gallivanter scattered everywhere, each corpse shared similar injuries; frostbitten and puncture wounds in rows of threes. The party continued northward with the entire group resting for a short while, whilst Mordus and Ulmarra had a private conversation.

The party was ambushed by a set of water elementals wielding tridents! Devinn was dragged into the water by the pair, but Draz managed to pull him out. A huge frost salamander showed up as well, though, after a heated battle, Mordus got the final blow on the creature combining the energy from the falchion with Devinn's Divine Strike. As the Salamander drew its last breath it exploded in a burst of cold energy, knocking both Nafir and Arkorow unconscious.

Continuing further north the party got to some sort of shrine, a large statue sat in the center with water surrounding it and flowing from it. It did not appear to be of any god the party knew, and looked of elven origin; ancient but taken care of. The statue sparked a memory within Arkorow. Mordus later learned this was a temple to a god after donating 150 gold to recharge the Relic of the Non-Believer.

Devinn learned through augury that there was no information about Mordus's crew to be found here. Devinn and Arkorow headed to bed within the tent, whilst Draz, Mordus, and Ulmarra stayed up to take watch. They also talked in depth about Mordus's and Ulmarra's lives, how they met, and their interactions with the Gallivanter. They all shared their theories and what they wanted to do about the Gallivanter situation. Ulmarra wanted to know what it wanted, and she wanted to stop it. They decided it would be a good idea to stay in this place for a while, rest, and plan their next moves. The party took a long rest.
