It was 114 years ago that the merchant kings of Evershoal banded together, along with the small towns and villages of the Wenmist Glades, Stormshale Coast, Ramsett Valley and Wehlken Plains, to establish Hallea. Previously thought to be dense wildlands, the area was loosely held by the neighboring nations of Allesanra and Selethren.
With the establishment of the republic of Hallea, those nations gladly relinquished the headaches that the wildlands brought to the new governing council, though success was not expected. Defying those expectations, the council established a rich and successful economy, rich in the trade of natural goods as well as, in recent years, a strong manufacturing trade.
The capital city of Evershoal lies along the Stormshale Coast, at the mouth of Auksnest Bay and serves as the main center of trade for the nation. Ready access by road, river, and sea to the capital has seen prosperity grow in much of Hallea. Though much of the land is still wild, that aspect of the area has been embraced by much of the populace, having realized how much of their prosperity is tied to the rich, fertile lands they inhabit.
