Beacon

Hewn from the mountain itself it stood unmoving. It shone through darkest night and deepest winter, a beacon to all who would seek its light.
RETIRED

Despite being less than three feet tall, Beacon tends to stand out. They are a strikingly blue Kobold who can often be found running errands for their family, a mostly-dwarven order of clerics to Moradin.

Beacon was abandoned as a hatchling on the cliffs overlooking Auksnest Bay, and would likely have perished if they hadn't been found and taken in by the order. As it is, they grew up running around the order's smithy, learning to work metal and conduct the rites and rituals Moradin requires. They have a particular admiration for their great-great-grandmother Forge, and try to emulate her in their work.

When Beacon came of age a year ago and chose their name, the order was astounded to receive a sign from Moradin that Beacon had been named his paladin - the first since Forge herself became Moradin's champion 200 years ago. Beacon takes their responsibilities very seriously  though it's not always entirely clear what those responsibilities are, as Moradin remains absent from daily life.
