The Eyes of Sardonyx, or simply Sardonyx as its known, is the elite, select guard of the Damascus Empire. They are an intelligence-driven and threat-focused security organization with responsibilities in both intelligence and enforcement of the Imperial Law.
The Sardonyx Law states that "an individual under the land of the Damascus Empire needs always to follow the orders of a Sardonyx officer". As such, although the Sardonyx job is to enforce only the Imperial Law, they can do so in any way they wish and they can also be convinced to enforce local law within the Empire, and ignoring or breaking a Sardonyx officer's orders is a punishable offense.
