Those thrice damned wutelgi

Logan, bleary eyed and still bleeding from a few shallow wounds, sits slumped at a table in the common room of the inn.

He wards off the inn keeper's attempt to bandage a wound with a dismissive sweep of the hand, saying, "Nae noo, man, or ye'll git a grudge yerself'! Bring me ink!"

The inn keeper gives up at his attempted ministrations, and returns with a bottle of ink and a quill.

Logan taps the quill against his lips idly, his brows furrowed in thought. He uncorks the bottle, dips the quill, and words begin to flow onto the page.

Thrice Damned Wutelgi

The tales tell it true: the wutelgi are a slippery lot. Stealing children is the work of devils and a devil's grudge can only be repaid in blood. I, Logan of Clan Granitehewer hereby bear the grudge against the wutelgi of the Moordydon Swamp for their child theft, a high crime against the forge. This grudge must be repaid in blood. Dammaz is recorded and dammaz shall be served.

He blows gently on the page to dry the ink, closes the book, and stows it in his pack. Satisfied that the debt has been recorded, he stands up and stumbles to his room for some much needed rest. The settlement can wait until morning...
