Goldstrong Manor, is an otherwise pleasant manse haunted by a forlorn woe. The manor itself is a baronetcy within Cloverview. Within the walls of Goldstrong, Sir Summerport's rule has few limitations other than the king's word. As close-knit vassals of The Reign of Eld, House Summerport is renowned for its charm and easy grace. Even the most embittered serf will preen at a word from a Summerport. However, in recent years a pall has settled over the proud family. Their scion, Sir Maxwell Summerport, has been sent west for his dishonor. The family is in need of continuity; a son with horns cannot become Lord Goldstrong. The family blames Serzy Montaigne for this predicament.

The edifice of Astley Estates is dominated by a tower overlooking the entire neighborhood of Cloverview, surrounded by more humble (and more functional) annexes on all sides. The tower is topped by a glass dome and a multi-leveled wraparound porch, seven stories high. From his perch, Sir Vervain of Astley can often be seen shouting instructions to his house staff below. Astley Estates don't host many parties, but only because they have not been social successes in the past; the family is well-positioned financially and politically, but they have few friends among the gentry due to their hard-nosed pride and hauteur. Astleys are known for their wit, not their warmth. In order to buttress his position at court, Vervain lavishes the privy council and key members of parliament with gifts.

Foxhold Manor, the Chapland holding, is relatively small as mansions go. Instead of a dedicated guest wing like most estates, it has a library of Dame Goditha's legal tomes and newsletter scrolls. Being a legal scholar and a county marshal, she spends much time drafting official documents here, when not campaigning against organized crime in her Oldtown office. Chaplands are an old family who rose to prominence by their legal acumen and fiery sense of justice. Dame Goditha's personal mission to eradicate organized crime is hampered by poor relations with the Ramward family, one of whom captains the Oldtown reeves.
COUNTY MARSHAL: [Thane Knight, Jurist] Crown Praetor Dame Goditha Chapland: [HGT: 5ft, 6in; WGT: 150 lbs] She is a very pale, serious, thin-lipped woman. She has short, graying red hair. POSSESSIONS: rawhide necklace, carrot, belt pouch with 3cp. ARMS & ARMOR: short sword (wK)
Greville was itself a small hamlet before the completion of Orchalannon, and the family that ruled there has since adopted the name. Now, the houses on Greville Row are venerable reminders of the friendship this family has had with the Pendragons over the centuries. By reputation, Grevilles have always been seen as slightly wayward, but so doggedly loyal as to be indispensable. Many of the Pendragon line have made good marriages into this house. Headstrong in defense of the crown, but always - if little else - respectable and respectful, even to their lessors. Currently, Lord Greville holds stewardship of Lake Sulise County in Oldtown.
HOUSE PENDRAGON STEWARD: [His Excellency] Lord Byron Greville, Steward of Redfenland County for House Pendragon: [HGT: 5ft, 11in; WGT: 220 lbs] He is a muscular, panting man who is instructing a guard to stop his niece from shopping. He is fixed on the idea that enough punishment will prevent any crime. DRESSED IN: gray knee-high boots, black pants, a dark-red and silver doublet, and a long white cape. POSSESSIONS: strategic county map, carrot cake, small leather bag with 5gp. ARMS & ARMOR: broadsword (w+1K), plate mail, kite shield
The Duborne & Cliffmore Estate, Penningbarth, is a tightly guarded complex that almost seems prepared for some great siege. Guests are led in small groups by armed guards who themselves only hold the lesser passwords, enough to gain entry to the common areas. Lord Randolph and his sister Dame Edda, twin heads of the family, control the estate. By house charter, the family must always have two heads of household, the senior male and female. Dubornes are harsh, austere, and paranoid enough to seem insane to most people. However, they thrive under the worst conditions imaginable, and only become unbearable when things get too comfortable. House Duborne was granted governorship of Echoriath Pass so that they would never be deprived of difficulties.
GOVERNOR: [His Lordship] Lord Randolph Duborne: [HGT: 5ft, 11in; WGT: 220 lbs] A blond man with a squarish head and a huge beard, he is a man who takes crime in his city as a personal insult. He has no use for penal legions or prisons of any kind. He demands recompense from convicts, which can take any number of forms based on Lord Duborne's mood and creative mind. However, he has a soft spot for cozeners and charming frauds. His gloved hands conceal small claws.
