Family Motto: Rise On High

Core Values: Faith, Resolution, Hope

Blackfields are old nobility with a long record of pious devotion to the Cult of Karna. Lord Blackfield's brother is actually among The Order of the Sunlight Knights, a very exclusive order not known to take members born outside Cerentuin. They lost favor in the courts of Solsangre Keep after the Alsuriean Solar Schism, when House Pendragon began courting the Cult of Speed in tandem with Karna. The Lord of Blackfield 268 years ago tried to join a rebellion. This was quelled without blood, but the house has not since risen as high as it once did.

Blackfield Manor is in The Backs, an enduring insult to the family's dignity that forces them to live among craftsmen, and to only access Solsangre Keep through an indirect route. House Pendragon has a long memory, and is not hasty to forget treason. Once, Blackfields rode Gryphon into battle. They have always been known as exceptional warriors, with perhaps more backbone than sense.

Devout of Karna: Each morning before sunrise, one cleans their bed and washes themselves to stand outside for the rising of the sun, hailing the sun as it rises, leaving out a plate of water, tea, or spirits to be evaporated. For this day, gain +1d to your next Vigor roll. If for some reason you cannot do this, you will be at -1 Command for the day. You can obtain your "Problems" XP point if you proselytize to (or attack) a heretic when it is not to your advantage.

Golden Fate: You can re-roll a pool, but it costs you 1 XP every time you do it. You can only re-roll each pool once—you have to accept the second result, even if it’s worse than the first.

Ignominy: You cannot raise your Status (See Advantages, p. 33 Enchiridion) above 3.

Holy Authority: Any roll to Inspire those faithful to Karna gain +2d.
