The forests of Midvale were once home to great packs of wolves. Now, canines are rare outside of civilized areas. Moose, mountain goats, and elks are now hunted by different beasts.
Like wolves, they are pack hunters. However, they differ in their method of hunting. They are excellent climbers and can glide short distances, and so prefer to pounce from the canopy onto large prey. Their weaker jaws specialize in latching on, while their wing talons stab at the prey.
One quirk of their behavior is that when hunting in a pack, they are easily driven off. However, when alone they are fierce and deadly.
