A small, tumbledown homestead in Midvale, some 75 miles down the western road out of Eagle Valley. The folks here are mostly second and third generation mutants who hope to eventually breed out the deformities from their bloodline, beyond the reaches of New Baz's curse. Men who were sent west also pass through here sometimes.

The town consists of a number of small cottages surrounding a crumbling priory. Once dedicated to Karna, it is now a shrine to Tarkus, one of Speeds syncretic progeny. A god of the hunt originating in pre-Armorcian tribes that was eventually added to most Alsuriean pantheons. The shrine is untended and defunct, however. Aglovale Blackwood: "Good riddance to that tribal filth."

There used to be nearly 50 villagers here, a few months ago. Now, it is closer to 30. A recent tragedy must have dashed many family's hopes, as the town is littered with forlorn little memorials to lost children.

News: Everyone is fairly depressed, because recently a pack of feral pigs ran through and managed to eat every child in the village but one, my daughter young Janna. Everyone's beginning to point fingers, and he's worried for her safety.

Lately, the shrine to Tarkus has been left untended. The holy man who preached there and maintained the shrine left and became a hermit half a year ago. He took a holy relic with him and hasn't returned. People are blaming him for the wild pig attack.

Ariadne Brae will take an interest in this story, and request leave to search for the huntsman before rejoining the group up the road.
