Mythians

Mythians are Elves, who have bound themselves to our world. No longer chaotic wanderers of infinity, they gave up some of their power to reclaim a soul, and live in Karnum.

The first Mythian is said to have come into being when an elven sorceress left a casket of honeyed grape juice in her manse during an excursion to the sky to snuff out a star that had offended her (only to have realized she had destroyed the wrong one). When she returned, weary and bereft, it had become wine. When she began to drink, it gave her a glimpse of beauty that smote her heart so that she yearned to be a native of Karnum forever. She renounced sorcery, and became a solar priestess, and was blessed with new form.

At least, that's the story told in the east. The alternate explanation is that our world is pretty nice, while Profundum is a burning puddle of diarrhea, and even the slightest amount of sanity can make an elf want to become a mythian. Named for The Rite of Mythia, a process that undoes the powerful sorceries granting elves their native sorcery and world-hopping ken. This is a difficult working, and involves the banishing of a powerful demon. It also leaves the newly made mythian in a weakened, helpless state for several days. A failed attempt at the ritual is often fatal. One strange side effect is that the transformation grants large black wings.

Forsaken by human culture and elves alike, mythians tend to live alone or in small groups in the wilderness, or as solitary itinerant travelers delivering messages or trading in information.

Truthsayer: Always at 1 Gobble die to tell direct lies. Unable to speak any untruths after being politely asked thrice. They do not appreciate being asked questions without some kind of recompense; information is power. 

Flight: Capable of flying vertically at walking speed or gliding downward at twice running speed. Flight is a Coordination skill that starts at 0 and works similar to Run, Athletics, or Dodge, depending on use.  

Native Magic Users: Mythians cast any and all magic with Charm, Command, or Mind in conjunction with Sorcery. However, they must choose one. Also, they have lost their elvish intuition, and do not instinctually know every spell. They can still buy any amount of spells at character creation, however.

Enemy (Elves - 5): No elf would ever help a mythian, even if put in fear of their life.

Enemy (Humans - 1): Aren't elves all evil? I bet you're just trying to trick us by being friendly. Note: In Orchalannon, the situation is more variable. Mutations are common, but wings are not.
