House Amaaril (ah-MAR-ill) is one of Illhad'or's ancestral houses. It traditionally governed over the midland plain of Illhad'or. Its members are primarily farmers, textile workers, and herbalists. It is generally considered to be the largest of Illhad'or's houses.
The House Premier holds the moonblade Aurimidiel.
History
House Amaaril was one of the nine founding houses of Illhad'or.
Although not part of their ancestral territory, the House took over operations on Sel Gehana once it was established as an agricultural colony.
Society
House Amaaril is the largest and most widespread of Illhad'or's ancestral houses, and as such is quite diverse in its traditions. Most Amaarils are lovers of food and drink, and are often welcome guests at parties and festivals.
Relationships
House Amaaril maintains a favorable relationship with each of the current Houses of Illhad'or, although this is more out of necessity than out of trust.
House Amaaril is a member of the North Sea Treaty pact, which outlines a 5,000 year old trade alliance between itself, House Alvaenis, and House Nistaleth for the purposes of textile trade.
The House is noted for its relatively relaxed attitude toward the inhabitants of Sel Gehana, even generally accepting and participating in their rituals, as this was easier than attempting to police their beliefs.
