Yashh is a yuan-ti thief, cutthroat, and ex-acrobat. He has been a noted ally of Nicolas Beaufont in The Search for the Star and The Shadows of an Empire.
Appearance
Yashh is small and trim, with the body of a well-trained gymnast. While largely humanoid, his reptilian traits lend a yellow tone to his eyes and skin, and patches of scaly-textured skin on his face and body. He wears his blonde hair long and straight, often in a ponytail. His face has been described as seeming feminine.
Personality
Yashh is often described as emotionless, lacking the ability to express many emotions, but has a noted anxiety and drive for perfection. He can be short with his companions, but is singularly devoted to Nicolas and his goals.
Background
Early Life
While Yashh's origins are unknown, it is implied that he spent his childhood and adolescence training in gymnastics and aerial silk acts. He has stated that he was exiled from his home for his emotional nature.
By the time Nicolas discovered him, Yashh was performing as part of a circus in Noravia as an exotic act.
The Star of Abbathor
Yashh joined Nicolas’s adventuring party in the summer of 1343, when Nicolas approached him after a humiliating performance. He became immediately enthralled with the lich and his abilities and agreed to lend a hand in the mission to recover the Star of Abbathor, immediately ending his contract with the circus.
Abilities
Yashh is primarily skilled in stealth and misdirection, though he professes some minor enchantment-type abilities. He is aided by a variety of magical and mechanical items, including a set of poison-injecting false fangs and his Boots of Stairstepping, which enable him to quickly take the high ground.
Interactions
The Search for the Star
Yashh was first encountered as a minor antagonist alongside Nicolas Beaufont in the Sanctuary at Mt. Selliduin, where he demonstrated his stealth abilities. He would reappear later in the adventure in a similar role.
The Shadows of an Empire
During the New Years 1347 conflict, Yashh aided the party in securing Three’s wand from Amurellon Sindelain and, quickly thereafter, in destroying it to render the Nagpa vulnerable.
Yashh has a fairly neutral opinion of Aurumvorax, but his loyalties lie with Nicolas.
